Setting up iDog Cam integration

Kennel Connection integrates with iDog cams.  You can set specific cameras for runs/kennels, for daycare rooms, play rooms, and outside spaces.  You can set an optional charge for access to the cameras.  You can decide when cameras are available to view.  Clients can only view cameras while their pet is checked in.

If you already have an iDogcam account and would like to enable the Kennel Connection – iDogCam integration, contact 424-229-2146, Option 1 for Support or email support@iDogCam.com and ask for the Kennel Connection Kennel ID and ERP codes. 

To set your cameras in Kennel Connection, click on Manage, iDogCam.

iDogcam will provide the Kennel ID and ERP Code.  Add to the correct fields. 

Allow Clients to View Cams – Click this option if you’d like clients to be able to view the cameras.  Leaving this option unchecked allows you to setup the cameras and test before giving clients access.

Default Cam Service   This is an optional feature and allows you to enable a fee for viewing the camera during the pet’s stay.  This is setup in Other Services.  Click here for instructions. 

IMPORTANT:  When adding an Other Service for iDogcam, it needs to be set to perform duty 1 times every 1 day so that the client will be able to see the camera for every day of the pet's stay (for boarding appointments).

 

Message to display when cams are not active - Add the message to display in Client Portal if the cameras are offline.

Adding cameras for Boarding/Runs

Click on Run Setup.  This is where you set cameras for each run/kennel in your facility.

Click on Add Run Cam.

·       Choose the run and the Camera to assign to that run.

·       If you would like to charge for viewing the camera, choose the Other Service.

·       Click on Enabled for Client if the camera is ready for viewing.

·       Hit Add Run Camera.

·       You can add a camera per run/kennel.

Adding cameras for Rooms/exercises/services

Room Setup lets you add cameras for specific rooms and exercises.  You can set one camera per room or per activity.  You can set a specific time the camera is available for viewing.  In Kennel Connection, you can set one time period per camera.  For example, you can have a Daycare room that can be viewed from 8am to 4pm.

·       Room name – This name will display for clients in Client Portal.

·       Cam – This is the camera assigned to this room/activity.  Each camera can only be assigned to one room/activity.

·       Module – Choose the module if this camera is specific to this module.  If you have a service that can be added to any appointment, leave the module blank.

·       Show type – You can set options here for when the camera is to be available.

·       During Service time – If the service or exercise is given during a specific time, you can have the camera viewable for only that time

·       During entire stay if pet has service – If the pet has the service assigned to his appointment, the camera will be viewable while the pet is checked in.

·       Any pet checked in – The camera will be available to any pet checked in for that module

·       Other Service – If you want to charge for the camera, choose iDog Cam here.

·       Exercise – Choose here if the camera is assigned to a specific exercise.

·       Starts/Ends – If the camera is to be available for specific hours, put the times here.  The camera will only be available during these times.

·       Click Enabled for client if you’re ready for clients to view the camera.

Setting a camera for the Daycare yard

Let’s say you’d like to setup a Daycare yard camera that can be viewed for any pet who is checked in for daycare.

·       Add a room name, Daycare yard.  This name will display for clients in Client Portal.

·       Choose the camera.

·       Choose Daycare as the module.

·       If you want to charge for the service, choose the Other Service.

·       Choose to show for Any Pet Checked In.

·       Click Enabled for client if the camera is ready to view.

·       Click Add Room Camera.

Setting a camera for an activity

Let’s say you have Pool Time activity that you’d like clients to be able to view only during pool times of 8am – 12pm.

·       Add a name, Pool time.  The name will display for clients in Client Portal.

·       Choose the Module.  If this is a activity that’s an optional add-on for all appointments, leave the module blank. 

·       Choose to show the camera during the Service time.

·       Choose Pool Time as the service.

·       Add the start and ends times.

VERY IMPORTANT:  There may be times when you need to quickly disable all cameras from client view.  In Kennel Connection, you will need to click to disable each one under Room Setup and Run Setup.

Client Portal

Clients can view the cameras in Client Portal under the Cams tab.  Cameras are only available when the pet is checked in for their appointment and must follow your settings.
